New year, new look!
06/01/10
From 11 January the network of buses run for Bournemouth University will feature a bright new look!
The livery of white, grey and pink has been designed by London-based Best Impressions and will feature on eight new vehicles used on BU routes U1, U2, U3 & new U4.
The distinctively branded Mercedes-Benz Citaro 'bendy-bus' and single decker Scania Solar are the first arrivals of a new fleet of buses being rolled out on Bournemouth University services and will be seen from Monday 11 January.
These will be joined by six double decker Scania Enviro 400s during February.
As well as the new look buses, which replaces the current Unilinx brand, the colours and styling will be applied to new timetable booklets, website and bus stop information.
Extra-long bus arrives
06/01/10
In a transport first for Bournemouth, an 18 metre long 'bendy-bus' is to be introduced on Bournemouth University route U1.
Running on journeys between Lansdowne and Talbot Campus the articulated Mercedes-Benz Citaro bus will be able to carry up to 143 people and will help manage additional demand from students during the morning and evening peaks.
This 'bendy-bus', in its distinctive white, grey and pink colours, is believed to be the only one of its kind running anywhere along the south coast at the moment.
